Are you looking to deepen your faith? Do you want to know more about the Bible, Christian Tradition and Church History? Are you hoping to understand how your personal experiences and beliefs bring you closer to God and God’s people?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions EfM (Education for Ministry) may be for you. Education for Ministry is a unique, four-year certificate program in theological education for lay persons, offered through the distance-learning program of the University of the South’s School of Theology. An EfM group consists of one or two mentors and up to 12 participants.
Based on small group study and practice,the depth of Christian tradition is brought into study and conversation through the exploration of Hebrew Scripture, New Testament, Church History, Theology, Worship, and Reflection. This year the group will also read Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman and The Four Vision Quests of Jesus by Steve Charleston. Click to download a full list of this year’s books.
Quick Facts: Meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6-8:30 pm at Trinity, beginning September 10, 2024, through June 3, 2025, with a 2-week break at Christmas and New Year’s.
