Taizé at Trinity turns 25!

On June 13, 1993, Trinity held its first Taizé service. Since then Taizé services at Trinity on second Sundays have continued nonstop (except for the occasional Easter that has fallen on the second Sunday in April)!

City Wide Taize: Friday, September 22

In recognition of the annual United Nations International Day of Peace, observed annually on September 21, the theme for this service is “Peace Among Peoples of the Earth.”

Given the nature of the service— meditative, with candlelight, chanting, and extended periods of silence, Taizé would seem to be an ancient form of worship. Not so. It’s actually quite modern, with a short history full of interesting contradictions.
