Vestry

Bob Wood

Bob Wood

Senior Warden

(Class of 2025)
I am currently helping teach Sunday School, and I served on the Finance Committee a few years ago. Although not technically “Trinity Service,” I also coach the St. Richard’s 5th/6th grade boys’ basketball team and serve on St. Richard’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. And I occasionally make the envelopes Oscar uses to deliver notes to people during Sunday services.

I am excited to promote Trinity’s many outreach efforts and—as a St. Richard’s parent, coach, and Board-husband—to help foster the church- school relationship.

I have been a member of the Trinity Choir since I joined the church in 2019 and particularly enjoyed being part of the most recent choir pilgrimage to England. I also serve on the stewardship committee and, as part of this committee work last year, created a survey for Trinity parishioners. In addition, I participate in the Women’s Reading Group as often as possible.

My wife Kären and I have been parishioners at Trinity for some 13 years and have gotten increasingly involved over the years.. I’ve been a Lector at Trinity for a few years, and my wife has served on the Vestry, and building committee. My dad, Gary, is also a parishioner and serves on the Altar Guild. My daughter Clara is a chorister and acolyte, and I was able to assist her Rite 13 group making christmas cookies this year.  All three of my kids, Clara, Harlan and Vaughan attend St. Richards.

Margi (my wife) and I came to Trinity in 1997. My service includes either chair or co-chair of our stewardship campaigns three times. I’ve served as a Vestry Representative for two terms, as well as Junior Warden and Senior Warden for two years each. Journey in Faith included being a participant or Team leader for several years. Currently, service to the Sunday Dinner means either feeding the dishwasher or operating it. This outreach mission is highly rewarding and serves our neighbors in a very meaningful and substantive way. I have also done some woodworking projects for the church over the years.

I began my career in the financial services industry in Chicago. In 1980, I moved to Indianapolis to start an investment firm where I served in the capacities of Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Officer until my recent retirement. My leadership experience in the areas of finance and compliance provided a solid foundation which served me well in my past Vestry term and as a Trustee of the Legacy Fund.

Currently, I am Executive Director of Principal Gifts in the University Advancement Office at Butler University. I have many years of experience with fundraising, board service, and community service. In my volunteer and professional life, I have also built up a vast network of people in the Indianapolis community. As a Vestry member, I hope to continue to provide service to the surrounding community and those in need.

I am a civilian for the US Army. My wife, Brittany and I have been members of Trinity since 2010, and we have two daughters Kennedy and Charlotte. I have over 24 years of Federal Financial Accounting experience and over 35 years of community outreach service. I want to serve on the Vestry to further my knowledge of my church community and aid in identifying areas of opportunity to enhance our current ministries and/or identify ways new ministries can benefit our ever-changing environment.

I am an educator through and through and will bring my background and experiences to the Vestry team. I have taught every grade level from kindergarten – 12th grade, plus graduate students. I hold a doctorate in education leadership and serve on the Indiana University Parent-Advisory Board. I hope my background as an educator who loves students and learning proves helpful as a Vestry member. I would like to serve Trinity by learning more about how things work, what the needs are, and how we can work together to be our best church so we can serve God and our neighbors and grow in our faith journeys.

I am always trying to help and participate whenever I can. I have previously been the leader for my daughters Girl Scout troop, I have also volunteered and helped out with the Liberian Association Of Indiana where I was Human relations assistant and advocate. Also every year for the past 10 years I have volunteered at the Indy 500 Festival. Most re- cently I have assisted young women in getting enrolled into College so they can extend their education to start working on their careers.

I am a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, and my husband Robert and I have been Trinity members for 30 plus years. Our children Sarah and Rob grew up here and Trinity is an important part of many of our family memories – Mayfair, Madrigals, Choir (and the beautiful music), and all the fun Parish Life activities over the years. I’ve served Trinity in many ways – as a Sunday School Assistant and Youth Leader; and as a member of the Vestry, Finance Committee, Parish Life Committee, Outreach Committee, Madrigal Guild, Trinity Women, and the Sunday Dinner. I helped launch St Nicholas Early Learning and served as a board member. I am currently a member of the Altar Guild.

I have been a member of Trinity since 1976. My husband Mike and I were married here. Our children attended St Richard’s Episcopal School. Our daughter Michele was an acolyte and a chorister at Trinity. Our son Tom was a part of the first Rite-13 group, and the very first Journey to Adulthood (J2A) pilgrimage to Ghost Ranch in New Mexico in 1999.

I have been involved in many ministries at Trinity. I have served on the Vestry twice, and represented Trinity as a delegate to Diocesan Convention several times. Other leadership roles have been that of Journey in Faith (adult formation) leader, Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader. I taught second and third grade Godly Play for many years. I also served in the kitchen for Madrigal Dinners and was the one responsible for purchasing and baking the boar’s head for several years.

Currently I am a member of the choir and the Madrigal Singers. I’ve been fortunate to travel to England twice and sing with the choir there. I also serve on the Social Justice and Racial Reconciliation Working Group and have participated in the Sacred Ground study series. I’ve volunteered to co-facilitate the next program at Trinity.

My family (wife Victoria, and daughters Hannah and Abby) and I joined Trinity in 2009, and have all sung in the choir. I have also composed anthems and service music for various occasions. I’ve participated in two choir pilgrimages, and portrayed landed gentry at many Madrigal Dinners. Our daughters are St. Richard’s graduates, and Chorister and Acolyte alumnae I substitute taught at St. Richard’s as well. Recently, I completed four years as head of the Lector Corps.

Trinity has been an essential part of my family’s life in ways large and small, and I hope to broaden the parish’s vision and reach.

I have been an active mem- ber of Trinity Church since I was in the first grade at St. Richards. Since this time, I have gladly and thoroughly enjoyed my service to the church through the choir for the past fifteen years. I have also had the pleasure of volunteering at Mid North Food Pantry and serving Sunday Dinners throughout high school here in the US. Through Trinity I was able to be a part of the Rite-13 Youth Group, attend our pilgrimage to Calgary, and participate in the beautiful pilgrimages of the choir to New York City, England and France.

Trinity has been a rock in my life since childhood. Even when I was in Norway, coming home to Indianapolis meant I was able to experience the awe and majesty that this place provides for its members, comparable, even, to the fjords and mountains I became so familiar with while away. As one of the regular and active young members of the church I want to see Trinity grow and change for the better.
