General Convention: July 8 -11 in Baltimore, Maryland

Did you know? General Convention is the national legislative body of the Episcopal Church. It comprises two parts: a House of Bishops and a House of Deputies. The Convention meets every three years to adopt legislation and determine programs and budgets, including missionary, educational, and social programs. Mother Julia will be attending General Convention this year, along with Bishop Jennifer and other representatives from our diocese. If you’re interested in following the convention agenda, visit https://www.generalconvention.org/

It’s also very timely to point out that the General Convention of 2018 adopted a resolution declaring “that equitable access to women’s health care, including women’s reproductive health care, is an integral part of a woman’s struggle to assert her dignity and worth as a human being.” Read more about resources from the Episcopal church addressing the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.
