Pastoral Care
Pastoral care occurs when human needs and the presence of God intersect. It takes many forms: quiet listening and shared concern, a ride to the doctor’s office, a shared meal, help with home repairs for someone who is older or ill, help in finding a good counselor or simply remembering someone in our prayers. Our goal is to identify needs and link people with the best resources for pastoral care.
Healing Ministry This quiet offering of a gentle touch and prayer is available every Sunday at both services from trained lay healing ministers. It is administered during communion in a side area of the sanctuary, a safe place to request a prayer for one’s self, a loved one or the world’s concerns, or to voice a thanksgiving. Healing ministers meet monthly for eucharist, prayer, conversation and continuing education on topics pertaining to healing.
Stephen Ministry Trinity Stephen ministers provide confidential, one-on-one, Christian care. They have been specially trained to listen, care, encourage, and pray with and for the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministers provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it.
12-Step Groups The 12-step tradition is a method of recovery from obsessive-compulsive behaviors, based on a set of principles originally created by Alcoholics Anonymous. Two 12-step meetings are held each week at Trinity:
Alcoholics Anonymous, 7 pm Thursday, St. Richard’s School faculty lounge
Narcotics Anonymous, 10 am Friday, The Corner House at 33rd Street/Pennsylvania
